Job Purpose:

The Tax Analyst will work across a significant service area for a key Citigroup client. The individual will be responsible for ensuring that all client deliverables are met and ensuring that appropriate operational processes and controls are effective in the area

Job Background/context:

GTS SFS Edinburgh is the centre of operations and service to UK funds industry clients. It has key outsourcing clients and a growing book of clients receiving administration and accounting services. Our business plan is one of expansion through selected deals to service clients requiring a service to administer UK based funds.

Client ownership is key for the Edinburgh franchise in relation to this client and there is a developing distributed model with COE Locations. The Client needs to see a single face of Citi, and the Oversight and validation model is of high importance to them.

Key Responsibilities:

• Calculation and review of tax provisions / tax disclosure for inclusion in statutory accounts

• Completion of Corporation Tax Computations and Returns

• Periodic Tax Reviews for Authorised Investment Funds.

• Provision of accurate, timely tax calculations / information within client / statutory deadlines.

• Provision of tax support to Project and other internal teams.

• Keep up to date with changes in tax legislation applicable to UK Collective Inv Schemes

• Develop strong pro-active relationships both internally and externally.

• Share specialist knowledge within and across teams

• Support team in achievement of outputs.

• Identify opportunities to improve processes and procedures

• Assist with implementation of company wide initiatives

• Monitor legislative and practical changes in funds’ taxation and analyse their impact on the business (with the assistance of external advisers where appropriate)

• Be the key tax contact for our clients Group Tax departments

• Retain, prepare and deliver management information internally and to clients

• Compilation of data for tax reporting purposes in overseas jurisdictions where funds are marketed

A formal professional qualification is essential (such as CTA, CA, ACA or HMRC qualifications).

Desirable but not essential - Relevant Securities Institute certificates.
