The Boeing Company Mid Career Quality Test Specialist - 767/747/777 Fluids QA Lab Testing in Everett, Washington

Boeing Commercial Airplanes program support is seeking a qualified Quality Test Specialist to support the Fluids Testing Lab as an Analytical Chemistry Technician in Everett, Washington.

This is a second-shift position in which a varying weekend day will be required.

The Analytical Chemistry Technician works as a member of a team to carry out processes such as Quality Control tests, sample preparation, etc within the analytical function and to provide general laboratory support to the factory and EDC.

Techniques or activities vary depending on the technology or specialist area, but may include:

•Analyzing samples from various sources to provide information on compounds or quantities of compounds present.

•Using analytical techniques and instrumentation, such as gas and high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), ion chromatography, electro chromatography and spectroscopy (infrared and ultraviolet, amongst others).

•Interpreting data and meeting strict guidelines on documentation when recording data.

• Reporting scientific results • Developing techniques for the analysis of drug products and chemicals • Working collaboratively in cross-functional teams • Liaising with customers, staff and suppliers; • Being aware of, and keeping up to date with, health and safety issues • Validating methods and equipment.

•Determining the composition and structure of matter (analytical assay evaluation). • Study samples, calibrate and standardize test results, interpret data and report results. • Use computer-controlled instruments in laboratories to take measurements.

Additionally you will:

Work in a safe and responsible manner, and maintaining a high level of tidiness. Be familiar with all required QC and analytical techniques through on the job training and external courses where appropriate.

Carry out QC tests within the analytical function. Techniques to include, but not limited to: FT-IR, GC-MS, titration, ICP, ICP-MS.

Maintain a high standard of laboratory work with regard to both practical output and documentation.

AA degree in related discipline and typically 3 or more years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Bachelors degree is strongly preferred.

Required Qualifications

3 Years of Quality Experience Experience with chemical laboratory procedures and protocol method development. 1 Years of experience with inspecting processes for chemical, liquid, or paint for conformance with applicable specifications, quality standards, and manufacturing plans. Chemical Laboratory experience including the operation of analytical instruments and equipment.
