SAP is currently seeking an experienced Sales Director to sell our Human Capital Management (HCM) Solutions. The role is predominately focused on new customers to SAP’s HCM solutions: these are existing SAP customers who do not have any HCM solutions yet. The primary focus is to sell our cloud based solutions - the SuccessFactors product line.

You will play a key role within the sales organization, building the team, leading execution of the sales plan and driving cross-vertical enterprise-wide sales initiatives to enable the region to succeed. Leading an existing team, and with remit to grow the team further, the role will involve extensive interaction with senior stakeholders internally and externally, including marketing, presales, professional services, business development, SAP counterparts, and alliance partners and customers. The role will include significant customer-facing activity while supporting the team, acting as a point of escalation and peer-selling at major enterprise accounts.

As an experienced sales leader, you will have a proven ability to lead, motivate and coach a team, with an eye for setting and following a clear strategic direction and process optimization.


  • To maximize focus and efficiency of current team to help accelerate the growth in SAP HCM business

  • Recruit the best and brightest individual contributors

  • Manage a team of individual contributors in their region

  • Train and coach on an ongoing basis

  • Drive best practices and sales processes

  • Oversee the executing of the sales plan in the assigned region to meet/exceed sales goals

  • Responsible for accurately tracking and forecasting the revenue

  • Work closely with other managers, including business development, marketing, presales, professional services, alliance management

  • Support the RSMs in developing sales strategies, closing deals and over-achieving against their targets

  • Provide frequent interaction with the Partners and our Alliances communities

  • Share knowledge across the team and continuously develop and enhance personal and team capabilities.

  • Support all SAP promotions and events in the territory

  • Understand best practice sales models. Work actively with Senior Sales employees to develop sophistication in sales and negotiation skills.

  • Maintain White Space analysis and execution of initiatives (up sell and cross sell) on customer base.

  • Orchestrate resources: deploy appropriate teams to execute winning sales.

  • Understand SAP’s HCM competition and effectively position solutions against them.

  • Ensure account teams and Partners are well versed in each account’s strategy and well positioned for all customer touch points and events. Maximize the value of all sales support organizations.


  • 10 years of software sales experience

  • 5 years successful sales management experience

  • Track record of over-achieving against individual and team revenue goals

  • Experience in an On-Demand/SaaS business application environment with a sales background

  • Interaction with senior executives across multiple industries

  • Proven record of sales success in a similar enterprise software application environment

  • A self-starter who can effectively work within a strong team culture

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively

  • Ability to hire and train new sales representatives;

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience with Business Application solutions

  • Passionate about customer success
