The Defense Health Agency, National Capital Region Medical Directorate (NCR-MD) is the future of Military Medicine- a partnership in World Class Medical Healthcare. The Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, the National Intrepid Center of Excellence (NICoE), Fort Belvoir Community Hospital, Dilorenzo Clinic and the Joint Pathology Center, provide world class medical services to the nation's service members and their families.
National Capital Region- Medical Directorate has announced a reorganization using Reduction in Force procedures effective 11 December 2016. If you are hired into this position you could be impacted by a reduction in grade or movement to another organization within the Medical Directorate. No employees will be separated through this reorganization. Current Federal Employees who are selected from this announcement will receive a change in tenure status for a 1 year period; this change will impact the retention standing of the selectee.
About the Position:
This position is located in the Readiness Clinic within the Director of Medicine at Fort Belvoir Community Hospital located in Fort Belvoir, VA.

The incumbent works in the Readiness Clinic at Fort Belvoir Community Hospital to complete data analysis and other data reporting specifically related to Medical Readiness. This entails the tracking of metrics and trends, and analysis of activities surrounding the input, processing, and output of data from the various computer programs or systems. Manages, and controls various applications and ad hoc reports for data capture and data quality improvement activities relating to a wide range of source data collection and information systems. Continuously monitors issues related to the data integrity function to improve the quality and accuracy of the information retrieval systems data and functionality. Provides training and guidance to staff on Medial Readiness data systems.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Experience required: To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as includes utilizing medical readiness systems to extract data for analysis; developing reports based on data analysis; and briefing leadership on medical readiness data analysis. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you may qualify if your education meets the definitions below.
Education Substitution for Specialized Experience for GS-11: Successful completion of a Ph.D or equivalent graduate degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position, such as Statistics or Data Analysis. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
Combination of Experience and Education Substitution for Specialized Experience for GS-11: If you have some, but not all, of the experience or education described above, you may still qualify by combining the amount of creditable experience and education that you possess. To compute, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then, divide your semester hours of graduate education beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency (knowledge, skills, abilities) in the following areas:
- Knowledge of analytical methods
- Knowledge of medical readiness data systems
- Skill in analytical reporting
- Skill in oral and written presentation
- Ability to improve business data processes
