Citibank North America (NA) Consumer Banking has over 30,000 professionals working together to provide consumers with credit card, retail banking, wealth management, small business, mortgage and commercial banking and payment products and services. Within North America Consumer Banking, there are two primary business areas, U.S. Consumer and Commercial Banking, Citi Cards.

The pricing team for Consumer and Small Business within US Consumer and Commercial Banking provides market intelligence, pricing strategy and analytics for deposit and lending products. Core products include checking, savings, money market and certificate of deposit accounts as well as home equity loans and lines and unsecured loans and lines. The pricing team applies a disciplined analytical decision process, and is focused on driving profit and market share growth.

The Pricing Strategy and Modeling Consultant is a highly visible position that works on industry leading initiatives with substantial impact to earnings. The individual contributes to the development and execution of loan and deposit pricing strategies in a dynamic test and learn environment. This includes deployment of highly technical and complex quantitative analytics, predictive modeling and statistically sound champion-challenger experiments to advance Citi’s pricing optimization practice. As a recognized technical authority within the department, the individual will exercise a wide degree of latitude, independence and discretion. The consultant will also monitor and present Citi’s competitive position, demand trends and financial returns to an executive audience, and recommend changes when needed to maintain a competitive and profitable position in target client segments. Key partners include Product Management, Risk, Decision Management, Finance, Treasury, Legal, Compliance, Sales, Marketing and Citi technology groups. May also engage with external consultants and vendors on projects to enhance the pricing practice.

Key responsibilities of this position include:

  • Apply advanced analytics and statistical and financial tools for portfolio and acquisition analysis to identify optimal pricing actions and analyze impacts to determine success of pricing strategy, offers and tests. Design champion-challenger experiments for pricing

  • Build tools to enhance and integrate descriptive, predictive and prescriptive demand and financial analytics to streamline the pricing decision process

  • Monitor and report on demand and performance trends, market share and competitive intelligence; correlate trends with pricing actions; integrate, organize and manage high volume of complex data from multiple sources; prepare and present materials for pricing committee and other executive audiences

  • Execute on pricing strategy and monitor results for consistency with long and short-term profitability and growth targets

  • Engage with external vendors and consultants as appropriate


Candidates must have experience with pricing financial services products and/or finance, risk management, product management or marketing analytics with 6+ years of overall experience. Ideal candidates will have both strategic and tactical abilities and strong quantitative aptitude with a keen sense of how to position pricing to maximize success. Experience with deposit products a plus. Bachelor’s degree required, in quantitative field such as, statistics, applied mathematics, economics, finance, or similar, MBA preferred. SAS experience required; SAS/OR (Optmodel) desirable. Predictive modeling and forecasting experience highly desirable. Key skills include:
