Under the direction of the Distribution Center Manager, assist with the day-to-day operations of a single Distribution Center, that provides services to customers in a defined geographic area. Make recommendations and implementation of new operational procedures or policies including both warehouse and transportation. Ensure managers/supervisors/warehouse personnel have tools to complete assignments successfully. Exercises general supervision of overall distribution activity, including inventory control, order processing, warehouse activities, transportation, maintenance, and customer service. Assist with the development of the annual operational budget for all functional areas within the distribution center and monitor compliance. Maintains awareness of, and ensures compliance with, all Federal, State, County, and Municipal government regulations including DOT, OSHA, Labor laws, and environment laws. Maintains an open door policy to facilitate a positive teammate climate. Responsible for maintaining a warehouse sanitation program, which must achieve a superior rating, based on AIB standards and guidelines.


  • Degree in Business Administration/Logistics/Material Management or equivalent experience.

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a comparable management position in a food distribution environment.

  • Excellent communications skills.

  • Excellent planning and organization skills.

  • Excellent inter personal skills.

  • Proven sound leadership skills in providing guidance and direction.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Software Package (Outlook/Word/Excel).

  • AS400 experience preferred.
