Serves as the coordinator of all disciplines to ensure outstanding patient care is provided

Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required
Assumes 24/7 accountability for the units
Provides direct nursing care for women and infants in the birth center as needed, in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization
Will have knowledge of service areas for which accountable
Must have customer service abilities including effective listening skills
Will have critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment
Must have the ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, and lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 50 pounds
Required - Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing
o BSN degree
Required - Current licensure as an RN in the state of Virginia.
Required - Current certification as a BLS Healthcare Provider and NRP.
Preferred – Current certification in specialty field.
Required - Two years’ experience as an RN in a labor and delivery unit
Demonstrated leadership and management skills
