Under indirect supervision, provides primary care, assessment and evaluation to critically and/or chronically ill newborn infants. Serves in a teaching capacity and/or may supervise clinical staff in patient care activities.


MINIMUM REQUIRED: Master’s degree in Nursing with Neonatal Nurse Practitioner Program focus. Two years NICU experience in a Level 3 or higher unit. Associates degree may be substituted in lieu of Masters for NNP license obtained prior to 1/1/08. Credentialed by the CMC Medical Staff Office as an Allied Health Professional and privileged to perform Nurse Practitioner Standardized Procedures.

PREFERRED: Two years’ experience as a Neonatal NP in a Level III Facility within the last 3 years.


MINIMUM REQUIRED: Current CA Registered Nurse License. Current CA Nurse Practitioner License with a current Furnishing number. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) number within 90 days of hire or entry into job. Current BLS and NRP certificates. Neonatal certification obtained within one year of entry into job.
