The Oncology Clinical Pharmacist will play an integral role in the monitoring and management of inpatients with cancer and hematologic conditions. The individual will serve as a key member of the Oncology/Hematology Service, providing clinical support and teaching to physicians and other health care providers. The Oncology Clinical Pharmacist will be responsible for education and mentorship to clinical staff pharmacists, PGY1 residents, and pharmacy students. Other responsibilities include participation and leadership in pharmacy-related quality improvement initiatives as well as policy and/or guideline development and formulary management.
The Oncology Clinical Pharmacist will provide delivery of pharmaceutical care, daily monitoring of Oncology/Hematology Service patients, documentation of interventions, drug information, quality assurance review of drug utilization throughout the hospital for various medical staff committees and the department.

Candidates must have a Doctor of Pharmacy degree (Pharm.D.) and a valid State of California Pharmacist license. To be considered, you must have successful completion of a PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency or 2 years previous experience as a clinical pharmacist in an acute care hospital setting with involvement in formulary development, medication use evaluation, and quality assurance activities. Additionally, qualified applicants will have current BLS and ACLS certifications.
The ideal candidate would have completed a PGY2 Oncology Pharmacy Residency and have certification from the Board of Pharmaceutical Specialties.
