Utilities Technician (UT)

The UT SME’s responsibilities include reviewing and assessing utility systems supporting the customer’s missions in accordance with the DTRA BSA SOP for UT. The general focus for the UT SME is incorporated into three primary categories of systems: electrical power, environmental control, and life support. The UT SME responsibilities include identifying all aspects of utility-related issues and providing recommendations to mitigate or eliminate identified vulnerabilities.

Required Skills/Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree or higher or combination of education and experience.

  • Experience must be sufficient to demonstrate the assessor possesses the skills needed to perform the job duties and be comparable to what is required through the successful completion of a full 4 year course study or certification

  • Minimum 10 years operational experience in the military or other comparable civilian position with focus on utilities infrastructure.

  • Experience working in a SCIF environment.

  • Experience with identifying vulnerabilities as it pertains to power and water.

  • Experience with identifying vulnerabilities as it pertains to HVAC and environmental life support systems.

  • Experience with identifying vulnerabilities as it pertains to all mission critical utilities systems.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to include briefing technical and nontechnical audiences.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to prepare power-point presentations, reports, and white papers.

  • TS/SCI Security Clearance required

Desired Skills/Qualifications

  • Experience conducting vulnerability-based assessments similar to BSA’s.

  • Experience working as a Licensed Professional Engineer.
