I. JOB SUMMARY
The Digital Applications Architect provides technical direction, and hands-on leadership for Merial’s commercial applications and digital platforms. This role leads a technical team accountable for the conception, design, development, testing, implementation, and support of various business-critical customer-facing applications, as well as the ownership of the various Merial’s Digital Platforms, including Internet and Intranet WCMS like SharePoint, Wordpress and Drupal, DAL, web services frameworks, and mobile development and deployment platforms This role is responsible for the architecture and solution design relative to all Merial’s digital assets, through deep involvement in the complete life cycle of product development.
II. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Design high-performance web applications that interacts with internal systems like CRM, DWH, ERP, and external providers’ platforms
Work in collaboration with development leads, to ensure that solution design and solution implementation align and evolve together, using an agile mindset
Provide technical leadership and hands-on assistance to various roles on the digital development team,
Lead technology evaluation and adoption efforts (including proof-of-concept and proof-of-technology)
Design and implement foundational / reusable frameworks and/or reference implementations
Analyze complex business problems, articulate technical options, and recommend solutions per desired scalability, maintainability, cost-effectiveness, risk-avoidance, etc.
Deliver conceptual, logical, and physical architectures
Deliver technology patterns, standards, and guides, and mentor team on how/when to adopt them
Prescribe appropriate types and levels of architecture review, code review, testing, documentation, monitoring, and metrics to ensure the ongoing Digital Health and production support of our platforms

IV. REQUIRED EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND AND JOB-RELATED EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university
Job Related Experience
10 years relevant work experience
5 years of technical leadership experience
V. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EQUIVALENT EXPERIENCE
Significant experience in creating, publishing, and supporting web and mobile applications
Significant experience in Mobile-first and API-first strategy
Extensive experience installing, managing, and supporting web platforms like SharePoint, Drupal and Wordpress
Through understanding of internet environments, load balancers, web servers, DNS, etc.
Experience in industry UX best practices and Human Interface guidelines, especially for web and mobile applications
Experience with Social channel integration
Experience in app analytics and UEM technology
Experience in delivering mapping, geolocation, and other location-intelligent applications
Experience in Service-Oriented Architecture, Enterprise Integration patterns, and API Gateways
Experience in patterns and techniques for performance optimization and application resiliency
Experience in creating digital technology strategies and/or reference architectures
Excellent oral, written, and visual communication skills, including data visualization and diagramming
Experience in delivering high-volume, high-availability, multi-site, internet-facing applications
Team-oriented / works well on teams.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Must have ability to handle multiple concurrent activities and have a flexible positive attitude.
Self-motivator and focused on delivering business benefit.
Ability to work independently and/or on a cross entity team.
