          This position does require local travel throughout the South New England Market as well as Regional travel based on companys needs. POSITION PROFILE Supports the development needs of the Ricoh U.S. Direct field sales force in the assigned Area/Region, with enhanced focus on the Mid-Market and Commercial Sales job family, through the delivery, coordination and execution of all sales training initiatives. The Sr. Area Development Specialist will also take on more of an assigned role carrying more responsibility as directed by the Sr. Manager. Works with the Ricoh Sales Force Development team, Region and Area management to execute on a learning and development plan for New Hires, Sales Reps, Sales Managers, and other SFD members (i.e. train the trainer) that support the achievement of Ricoh U. S. business objectives and leverages the learning opportunities available through RICOH. Responsible for managing the Area sales training deployment and delivery to Field Sales personnel, and to provide in-field coaching and follow-up as required for individuals in assigned territory. Works with other Team members outside of their assigned territory to ensure improved competencies and to ensure that the standards that are established are consistently achieved. Provides strategic plan and review sessions with feedback, measurement, and reporting to Area/Region leadership and Ricoh Sales Force Development team on the execution of the learning plan and initiatives. Facilitates and supports in-field product training and launches as required. Co-develops and manages Region and National Development related events and will assume lead responsibilities related to the delivery and execution of Region and National Initiatives as required by Sr. Manager. Is the key point of contact for all Area Customer Portal Visits and is a Subject Matter Expert for Technology Showroom visits and Customer VIP visits when appropriate. Key Subject Matter Expert for the Region Sales on Ricoh Product and Solutions related information. Key working relationships include Area AVP, DOSs, Sales Managers, Human Resource Manager, appropriate leader of product and solutions marketing. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible for the delivery coordination and execution of all field-based training programs, product launches and sales skills training; supports Region Launches and National Development Opportunities Manages and executes the area learning plan objectives as directed by the Sr. Manager of Field Sales Development Works with area leadership to identify learning opportunities within the Area and define tools to address Coordinates Area training calendar; provides visibility to necessary users. Supports the coordination of Region training calendar in collaboration with Sr. Manager and Team Lead Develops sales and coaching plans, tactics and guidelines for deployment by individual sales representatives to ensure success in achieving both individual and company goals Identifies skill gaps in specified areas of field development and addresses through customized development plans Coordinate class and participant entry into Learning Management System with the LMS Administrator as required, and submit rosters or appropriate form of attendee validation Report learning assessment/certification results to assigned managers and the Sr. Manager, Field Sales Development Supports new hire learning and development through the Fast Track process and provides feedback to employee's manager on progress Works with Area managers to monitor progress on new hire performance and to develop plans based on new hire skill gap analysis Facilitates live courses within Fast Track curriculum where appropriate within the Region and Area Plans, develops, designs, and schedules activities and training to help learners develop competence in Ricoh products, technology, sales skills and marketing programs Provides Ricoh product and solutions portfolio training support for Ricoh Sales Professionals in assigned area Works in conjunction with Ricoh Product Marketing to provide field training on newly launched and refreshed offerings from Ricoh line Provides field management coaching on team development opportunities and employee learning progress against plan Creates or contributes to curriculum development of new or existing programs in conjunction with the Sales Force Development Team Provides feedback to Sales Rep's managers on behaviors observed during training and documented field rides, when appropriate and/or required Supports overall Ricoh learning plan execution by facilitating training outside of assigned Area when called upon Provides strategic support to sales management team by developing and executing skill-based activities and development programs that are clearly linked to organizational and area objectives and initiatives Assists Sales Managers by building awareness of learning opportunities for team development; i.e. Meeting-in-a-Box, strategy sessions, review and planning sessions. Makes recommendations to assigned managers for customized training programs when needed, leveraging newly created or existing training programs Provides field coaching on account management and sales skills to representatives Support selling efforts and follow-up training utilizing CRM system(s) Supports sales management in the recruitment and targeted selection process to meet manpower targets and retention goals Coaches, directs and manages the development of underperforming sales reps to achieve or exceed revenue goals by performing gap analysis of skill set Is given exposure to Area Outlook Calls for the purpose of better understanding the Business in an effort to better develop Sales Earn a level of engagement to be viewed as an extension of Management for the Area, included in Sales Manager Meetings and overseeing Teams as directed by the Sr. Manager Actively pursues personal training and development opportunities and relevant approved certifications Performs other duties as assigned by Sr. Manager.Requirements QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience and Certifications) This role will require up to 60% travel College degree or equivalent business experience Professional technical certifications (CDIA+, CTT+, A+, et. al.) preferred Ricoh IMC Certification (will work to attain)Requires a minimum of 3 years of business experience including: Document products and services industry experience Training experience or role requiring significant manager-led development Proven successful sales experience Minimum of 1 year successful sales development experience or equivalent experience Must have prior sales experience selling IT Services/Professional or Managed Serivices We are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
