Midwestern University Laboratory Assistant - College of Dental Medicine in Glendale, Arizona
The Laboratory Assistant provides technical support to the Director of Dental Biomaterials Research.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform general laboratory duties
- Perform occasional clerical and admin duties
- Help to supervise and train students, staff, and faculty in lab procedures
- Help tp write reports, papers, and presentations
- Conduct experiments independently under supervision of the director
- Perform literature searches
- Help design and write SOPs
- Other duties may be assigned

Education and/or Experience
BA/BS degree required, MS degree or higher preferred. With 1-2 years of previouse laboratory experience.
Previous laboratory experience involving the following
- Cell Culture
- Bacteria Culture
- Training Students
- Experience with mechanical testing preferred
Computer proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Specific vision abilities required by this job include vision correctable to 20/40 in one eye, close vision, color vision, and depth vision, especially for using microscopes. The ability to tolerate repeated routine tasks.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to work near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to vibrations, toxic and caustic chemicals and fumes/airborne particles.
