Responsible for the daily activities associated with timely and accurate production of weekly union and non-union craft payrolls using the enterprise SAP system.
Candidate will be responsible for entering/updating employee master file data such as banking instructions, federal and state tax withholding, various allowances and garnishments. Upload and balance daily time files from assigned projects, verify wage bulletins, process approved adjustments prior to payroll processing. Audit payroll results by verifying manually entered transactions to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.
Create electronic disbursement bank files and/or check print files to assigned projects. Balance outbound files and generate payroll reports to downstream systems or other departments as necessary. Create and upload the payroll recording of gross to net journal entries to Oracle general ledger. Run post payroll reports. Set up third party payments for garnishments, payroll related insurances, and union fringe benefits. Process employment verifications. Submit wages and tax withholding to Payroll Tax for remittance. Participate in system testing of issues and/or changes required in the payroll system as needed.
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution with a major in Accounting, Finance or Business and/or 2 to 5 years of applicable finance work experience
Must have legal right to work in US without sponsorship
SAP experience HR or Payroll
Able to efficiently organize work activities to meet daily and weekly deadlines
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Good communication skills
Self-starter able to use sound business judgment in carrying out assigned tasks
Ability to work on MS-Excel for various ad-hoc analysis activities
CPP certification a plus
Intermediate skills in the areas of oral and written communications and project financial process controls
