Position at ITW Residential Construction Division

The Human Resources Manager is a key business partner for Residential Construction. This position will be responsible for a wide range of functions including: Organization Design and Effectiveness, Talent Management and Employee Development, Compensation, Employee Relations, and Company Culture. The Human Resources Manager will ensure HR strategy align with business plans and strategic objectives.

This role will be based in Vernon Hills IL until Residential Construction moves to Glenview IL in late summer.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Consults with and advises business leadership on organizational design to enable the business to grow and operate effectively including evaluating work structure, job design and role/responsibility clarity

  • Assesses organizational capabilities and identifies gaps

  • Collaborates with management to identify change management implications and develops change plans as appropriate

  • Drives talent plans and strategies including assessment, calibration, development planning and succession planning

  • Leads and coaches managers/employees on the application of the performance management process to ensure full utilization of performance management tools including goal setting, performance feedback and evaluation/assessment to improve results

  • Educates and influences leaders and managers on building an inclusive culture within the work place as well as identifies and develops action plans for areas of concern

  • Builds leader communications and assist managers by developing methods to share information with employees on business issues

  • Provides coaching and consultation on employee relation issues

  • Other projects as required

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree required; Master degree preferred

  • 7+ years of Human Resources experience

  • Prior experience recruiting and working with engineers a plus

  • Experience in all facets of human resources including talent management, recruitment processes, employee relations and legal compliance requirements

  • Demonstrated strength in analyzing facts and issues, identifying options, and ability to decide and recommend a course of action—including ability to know when to compromise and when to be assertive

  • Demonstrated track record of delivering results

  • Project/process management experience

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

  • HRIS experience preferred

  • Up to 30% travel
