Directly supervises warehouse employees in the distribution center. Carries out supervisor responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Plans, directs, and coordinates all assigned functions in the area of responsibility. Responsible for personnel management, including hiring, training, performance management and compensation. Reports to the Inbound DC Manager.
Creates detailed schedule time lines to ensure all inbound and outbound shipments meet specifications.
Pull and organize orders for from warehouse by part number and quantity as directed by picking ticket in priority assigned. Orders may be customer orders, IBTs or returns (excess and vendor).
Develops and provides input on labor requirements needed.
Package, label and ship customer orders by UPS, US Mail, bus, motor freight and local truck deliveries.
Ensure all stock is pulled and loaded into the delivery vehicle with accompanying and necessary documents, in conjunction with delivery schedules maintaining a minimum accuracy rate of 99%.
Train new employees on the proper use and maintenance of equipment and facilities utilized in the performance of their job. Follow-up to ensure results are achieved.
Coordinates manpower requirements by increasing or decreasing personnel and overtime to meet changing conditions.
Develops a process plan including people, resources, equipment and floor space for each distribution receipt.
Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet departmental schedules.
Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of distribution center and its employees.
Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.
Confers with other Supervisor(s) and Managers to coordinate activities of department.
Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
Adheres to all safety procedures in the performance of job duties.

- Experience and Education:
BA in business or equivalent is preferred. Minimum 3+ years of warehouse and supervisory experience is required.
Communication / Other skills:

Effectively present information to customers, clients and other employees in 1 on 1 and small group situations.
Good PC, including database, spreadsheet, order processing systems and manufacturing software, and math, including performing operations with measurement, volume and distance, skills.

Moderate physical effort and use of motor skills requiring manual dexterity.
Position requires employee: a. Regularly stand, walk and sit. b. On occasion, lift, lower, carry product up to a maximum of 10 pounds by hand.

Lots of activity, workers and equipment constantly moving, which requires constant adherence to safety procedures and rules.
