DBA will be responsible for managing the MS SQL databases supporting SAAS cloud platform for regulated industries.


Responsibilities include:

Must have experience supporting large scale web based applications utilizing MS SQL.

  • Excellent knowledge of MS SQL 2008 R2, 2012 and 2014 Enterprise

  • Excellent knowledge of Windows Clustering and SQL Clustering

  • Proficiency in installation, configuration and administration of MS SQL database software including understanding of Analytic Cubes.

  • Must be knowledgeable about underlying MS SQL database architecture schemas/products, database objects, file system structure, tables, views, packages, procedures, functions, triggers, sequences, indexes, and constraints

  • Knowledge of power shell scripting and ability to write his/her own scripts to support maintenance or auditing.

  • Expert in Database structure changes, table/index sizing, Application tuning, transaction monitoring, detecting lock contentions, tuning sort operations required and advanced troubleshooting techniques such as block dumps, setting event traces etc.

  • Expert in database backup/recovery, Database High Availability configurations, Fail-over, Disaster Recovery concepts.

  • Should have good understanding of the underlying network and storage concepts such as SAN, NAS, Amazon EBS, etc.

  • Be able to provide on call support and after-hours support for system maintenance.

  • Participate in on-call rotation.

  • Prior experience supporting Federal agencies is a plus

  • Prior experience support and administering Crystal Reports is a plus.

  • Prior experience with Amazon AWS or GovCloud is a plus.

  • Knowledge of Oracle and Linux is a plus.

  • Must have good communication & documentation skills

  • Prefer willingness to learn SAP’s HANA


  • At least 7 years of hands-on experience supporting high transaction volume databases in a mission critical environment such as ERP systems, e-commerce


  • Bachelor degree in engineering related studies highly preferred
