Software Developer

The Software Developer - SME will author or contribute to multiple applications and be responsible in whole or part for the design and development of each application. The Developer will work in both individual and team settings, and will collaborate with other groups within multiple organizations to achieve the appropriate technical solution. The Developer will be responsible for identifying, analyzing, and defining architectural, technology, process and user risks and potential impacts and application needs to ensure that the technical solution is consistent with the enterprise technical architecture.

The Software Developer -SME will be responsible for reviewing customer requirements and developing the appropriate system requirements and design specifications, which will lead to detailed designs, programs, and testing. The Software Developer will be responsible for system testing, deployments, to shepherd the system through the security approval processes, coordinate via existing processes for infrastructure support, and provide system level documentation.

The Software Developer - SME is to work in programming and data security to facilitate role-based and controlled access by other systems and users within an enterprise. The Software Developer will also be expected to work with enterprise message queuing technologies.

The successful candidate will act as a full-stack developer with broad engineering, problem solving and development skills that span the service, application and presentation tiers. The Software Developer will be expected to identify architectural, technology, process and user risks and potential impacts.

The successful candidate will be team-oriented, self-motivated, and work with minimal supervision and be driven to deliver excellent software quickly. The successful candidate should enjoy development in a team of strong technical peers. The successful candidate is expected to be a problem solver with good communication skills, a positive attitude, and work constructively and proactively with program team members, customers, and stakeholders.

Job Qualifications:

  1. Demonstrated on-the-job experience with Java EE, JavaScript, jQuery, SQ, and advanced JavaScript frameworks, such as Node.js or Angular and JQuery.

  2. Demonstrated on-the-job experience with Git or GitHub, including a thorough understating of branching.

  3. Demonstrated on-the-job experience with Spring and Hibernate.

  4. Demonstrated on-the-job experience with Eclipse or similar IDE.

  5. Demonstrated on-the-job experience with REST web services, including JSON and XML.

  6. Demonstrated on-the-job experience developing and deploying applications to Tomcat or JBoss.

  7. Demonstrated on-the-job experience contributing to or writing system design specifications, technical presentations, or other development/engineering related documentation.

  8. Demonstrated on-the-job experience with software testing; with diagnosing and debugging difficult technical problems.

  9. Demonstrated on-the-job experience with requirements analysis and documentation; with object-oriented analysis and design.
