About the Agency
Southern Region, Air Traffic Organization, Eastern Service Area South, Jacksonville ARTCC (ZJX)
Serves as a cartographer under the supervision of the Support Manager for Airspace and Procedures In an Air Traffic Enroute facility. Performs tasks in the collection, evaluation, verification, and selection of information and the preparation, development, construction, and production of radar, video, aeronautical, and other types of charts and visual aids based on accrued information. Prepares statistical graphs and pictorial illustrations for use by operational, administrative, and support personnel.

- Successful completion of a security investigation will be required.
To qualify for this position you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to FV-F/FG/GS-7/8. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. Specialized experience may include, but is not limited to experience in cartography or in a related field such as photogrammetry or geodesy, where the work required similar knowledge and skills; the ability to revise existing and construct new accurate aeronautical and special purpose charts, maps, graphs and pictorial illustrations and other related cartographic products. Substitution of education or equivalent combinations of education and experience may be qualifying for this position. SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE: Graduate education or an internship meets the specialized experience required above only in those instances where it is directly related to the work of the position. Two full years of graduate education or a master's degree meets the requirements for FV-G. One year of full-time graduate education is considered to be the number of credit hours that the school attended has determined to represent 1 year of full-time study. If that information cannot be obtained from the school, 18 semester hours should be considered as satisfying the 1 year of full-time study requirement. Part-time graduate education is creditable in accordance with its relationship to a year of full-time study at the school attended.
