The RN Behavioral Health* *will perform care under the direction of the unit Nursing Leadership Team and the Director. The Registered Nurse (RN) provides therapeutic and administrative services necessary for the care of the patient, in support of HCA ethical principles and values. The RN – Behavioral Health participates in treatment team conferences to assist in planning and revising goals, objectives, and interventions appropriate to the age-related and problem-specific needs of each patient. The Registered Nurse implements the nursing plan of care for assigned patients and conducts and/or co-leads group therapy sessions for patients. The RN – Behavioral Health evaluates patient’s response to interventions and revises nursing plan of care as needed. The RN delegates appropriate tasks to unlicensed personnel and provides required supervision. Works closely with all health care providers to facilitate and coordinate efficient, effective, and quality healthcare. Communicates effectively and maintains therapeutic relationships with patients, families, physicians, and staff. The Registered Nurse – Behavioral Health evaluates patient’s signs and symptoms, then records and reports results. Sets priorities and modifies patient care in response to changing conditions by utilizing problem solving skills and exhibiting good judgment. The RN assists physicians during treatment and examination of patient and processes orders. The Registered Nurse – Behavioral Health is expected to attend Unit Meetings as directed by the Nurse Manager, and to participate in continuing education programs to maintain competence and gain additional skills.

- Patient Safety –The Registered Nurse – Behavioral Health demonstrates commitment to patient safety initiatives including patient falls, medication safety, National Patient Safety Goals, critical value reporting, and administration of blood products.
EDUCATION REQUIRED AND/OR PREFERRED: * Graduate of School of Nursing program (required)
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: * Current Registered Nurse License in this state * BLS certification (required)
EXPERIENCE: * 2 years of experience in behavioral health (preferred)
