Robert Half Finance & Accounting Sr. Financial Reporting Analyst for E&P 90K in Houston, Texas
An oil and gas exploration company located in the energy corridor is looking for a Senior Financial Reporting Analyst to join their team. Responsibilities include:
Manage monthly Management reporting package, including: o Prepare and review financial statements (I/S, B/S, CF, etc.) and related schedules to be included in the monthly financial reporting package. o Compile and review monthly and quarterly variance analysis to explain significant variances in financial statement accounts, utilizing input from the respective account owners in the Accounting department.
Manage the timely and accurate delivery of quarterly and annual accounting reports and financial statements for reporting to investors and debt holders, including: o Prepare and review financial statement schedules (I/S, B/S, CF, etc.). o Draft supporting tables/schedules to Notes to Financial Statements and update disclosures based on authoritative accounting guidance. o Coordinate with other departments to obtain required information for the Notes to Financial Statements
Coordinate with external auditors to ensure a successful, efficient annual audit process for multiple entities, including: o Coordinate internal PBCs with other departments. o Draft and review accounting schedules and memos supporting reporting applied in financial statements. o Evaluate the audit status to ensure deadlines are met.
Support research of accounting and reporting issues and stay current with all accounting and reporting requirements that could impact the financial statements, including: o Develop recommendations based on changes in reporting and/or accounting requirements. o Assist in the development, implementation and maintenance of accounting and reporting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with US GAAP, SEC and Sarbanes-Oxley. o Review complex accounting entries prepared by accounting team members, as necessary, to ensure compliance with authoritative accounting guidance. To be considered for this role you must have an active CPA and 3+ years of experience in a big 4 firm with oil and gas clients. Strong accounting skills, strong writing skills, and intermediate knowledge of US GAAP and knowledge and understanding of internal controls, general accounting (G/L, A/R, A/P, etc.), and operational accounting (revenue, volumes, etc.) is desired.
