HME Training Team Lead

PAE is actively seeking an HME Training Team Lead/Instructor to support course engagements in Huntsville, AL. The position may require CONUS and OCONUS travel.

Description/Desired Qualifications:

HME Team Lead/Instructor supports the delivery of Homemade Explosives (HME) training course by preparing practical exercise scenarios, conducting explosives demonstrations (including the preparation and handling of improvised explosives mixtures), preparing and conducting explosive disposal exercises and demo range maintenance and clean up. Duties also include, but not limited to: Acting as Range Officer, Range Safety Officer, or Explosives Control Officer during live fire exercises. The position strongly prefers candidates that have graduated from the ATF Advanced Explosives Disposal Techniques (AEDT) Course and the Homemade Explosives (HME) Identification, Processing and Disposal course. Candidates with experience supporting the ATF HME course as an instructor/assistant instructor are also strongly preferred.

HME Team Lead/Instructor must possess strong communication, collaboration and customer service skills. The Team Lead/Instructor will maintain close contact with the government Program/Project Manager and Project Officer, and oversee day to day operations of contract instructor and administrative staff. The HME Team Lead/Instructor is responsible for reviewing/approving time reports, expense reports and preparing and submitted yearly performance evaluations associated with all contract staff. The HME Team Lead reports directly to the PAE NSS NCETR Program Manager.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must not be prohibited for possessing and transferring explosive materials as defined in Title 18, United States Code, Section 1102, Chapter 40.

  • Must have held one of the following certifications:

  • Certified Explosives Specialist, ATF

  • Hazardous Device School, FBI

  • Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technician, DoD (United States (U.S.) or foreign)

  • Bachelor’s Degree from Accredited University preferably in business administration, accounting, finance, criminal justice, criminology, forensic science or chemistry, however any field of study is acceptable coupled with relevant work experience.
