Supplemental Information

The incumbent of this position will be responsible for implementing and monitoring the Patient Advocate Services Program including coordination of Volunteers for LSU-Health/Lallie Kemp Medical Center. In addition, the incumbent will supervise the functional operations of the day to day activities of the Social Services Department, which includes two (2) Social Service Counselor 2 positions, and one (1) Administrative Coordinator 2, and all Volunteers. The Social Services Department works in coordination with the Medication Procurement Program/Outpatient Pharmacy. Incumbent will participate in On-Call duties.


A Master's Degree in Social Work from an accredited school of social work followed by four (4) years of professional level social services experience.


Position requires possession of Licensure as a Licensed Master's Social Worker (LMSW) or Licensed as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). The master's degree in social work must be from a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education, 1701 Duke Street, Suite 200, Alexandria, VA 22314.


Experience in public hospitals and in working with Medicaid and underinsured patients. Three (3) years of the professional experience may have been in a managerial or supervisory position.
