Information Technology Specialist
PAE is seeking an Information Technology Specialist to support on of our customers in Indian Head, Maryland.
Information Technology Specialist
Oversee daily performance of computer systems and networks.
Setup equipment for employee use, performing and ensuring proper installation of cables, operating systems, and appropriate software.
Read technical manuals, confer with users and conduct diagnostics to investigate and resolve problems.
Confer with staff and users to establish requirements for new computer systems and network equipment.
Refer major hardware or software problems to vendors for service and replacement.
Prepare evaluations of software and hardware, recommended improvements and upgrades.
Ability to perform back-up of sensitive information and build redundant systems.
Maintain, repair and deploy expeditionary communication suites for deployed CEXC forces globally.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Physical ability and commitment to deploy globally as a CEXC team member.
Ability to possess/handle firearms in support of CEXC operations.
Experience working on DOD NIPR and SIPR networks.
Experience with DOD Information Assurance policies and practices.
Experience with Microsoft Windows Operating Systems (Windows 7 and Windows Server)
Experience with Microsoft Office and associated software.
Experience with Cisco Routers and Switches
Experience in supporting computer hardware in stand-alone, private-network, and DOD network configurations.
Education and Experience:
Bachelors or Associate’s degree with 10 years’ experience in computer or engineering field or equivalent civilian or military qualifications with 5 yrs. experience.
Experience working a Helpdesk or as an On-site Network Technician.
Certifications and Other Qualifications:
CCNA/CCNA Security preferred.
IAT Level I (A+ or Network + CE) or IAT Level II (GSEC, Security+ CE or SSCP)
Eligible for both US Tourist Passport and US Official Passport.
Current/Previous DOD Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret security clearance.
