Site Safety and Health Officer -- Jacksonville, FL
The SSHO will have six years of satisfactory experience in preparing and enforcing the Contractor's safety program on contracts of similar size and complexity in the past.
The SSHO will have completed a 30-hour OSHA safety class or equivalent within the last five years and attended an average of at least 24 hours of safety training per year for the past five years.
The SSHO will have experience working with federal and state environmental, health, and safety regulations.
The SSHO will have experience working with control and prevention theories, principles, and practices.
The SSHO will have experience working with software and data processing applications applicable to health and safety.
The SSHO will develop, implement, coordinate, and monitor company-wide safety programs.
The SSHO will have the primary duty and responsibility of preparing and enforcing the PAE safety program on the JAX RBOS contract.
The SSHO will analyze accident data and recommend proactive solutions to reduce the frequency and severity of accidents.
The SSHO will see that facilities are maintained and are in compliance with government regulations.
The SSHO will conduct periodic surveys and inspections of facilities and equipment to comply with government regulations
The SSHO will develop safety programs and training modules and train less experienced personnel in safety training to ensure that training personnel are aware of established procedures and guidelines.
The SSHO will compile and analyze company data to assess regulatory compliance.
The SSHO will provide recommendations for control and correction of hazards and assists in development of corrective actions.
The SSHO will possess strong organizational and planning skills.
The SSHO will possess strong analytical and problem solving skills.
The SSHO will possess strong communication skills.
The SSHO will possess the ability to work independently.
The SSHC will possess the ability to interact professionally with various levels of employees and the public.
The SSHO will possess the ability to read, interpret, and apply regulatory codes and standards.
The SSHO must be willing to travel.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Bachelor's degree in environmental health or safety or related field preferred.
NAVFAC experience preferred
