Production Support Analyst

Required Skills & Experience:

5+ years in an application support position

5+ years in hands-on experience in supporting complex batches.

Shell/Perl/Python scripting, SQL (Sybase/MS SQL), Informatica ETL, Autosys.

Understanding of the Service Support and Delivery disciplines (ITIL).

Strong communication skills (verbal and written) as well as project and time management skills.

Ability to work with cross-functional teams.

Self starter and fast learner.

Willing to work staggered shifts and weekends based on a rota.

Familiarity with grid computing.

The key services provided by the support team is batch support. The individual will be hands on with day to day operations and be required to have a strong technical and business background.

Job Description: Work closely business users, application development team, quality assurance team, and other technology partners (DBAs, SAs, etc) to provide the production services for a range of risk applications. Typical activities of the production support team are: application and batch monitoring, health checks to ensure system availability and stable performance, production incident management, trouble-shooting application performance issues, investigating & diagnosing application failures. In carrying out the production duties, the candidate needs to follow the bank s production processes and guidelines, document technical details both for the benefit of team knowledge sharing and for production audit requirements. Must be able to meet tight deadlines and work independently to high standards.


  1. Ability to keep schedule, make tight deadlines, work timely and independently. The expectation is that this person will require day to day operations keeping the system healthy

  2. Manage the helpdesk calls on batch issues and status, escalate when items are not addressed (this is a critical day to day task)

  3. Timely and accurate user notifications.

  4. Assist with report to support monthly metric reporting.

  5. Coordinate and perform Disaster Recovery test.

  6. Assist with gathering of sox/audit evidence.

  7. Ability to prioritize and engage management in situations when prioritization is a challenge

  8. Be able to lead a meeting, know all parts of a meeting

  9. Investigation of root cause analysis and corrective action

  10. Work closely with Business Partners and Development team
