Position Description

Sr. Analyst, Strategic Pricing and Patient programs will work on our United States pricing team to support launch and in-line products. Working across our commercial organization, the incumbent will lead the design and analysis for our innovative pricing and patient assistance programs. We expect to launch more than 6 products in 2017 and the Sr. Analyst will play an important analytical and strategic role in implementing and measuring our programs and their results. Main Areas of Responsibilities

Strategic Pricing Projects

  • New Product Strategic Pricing - working with of our experienced Director of Pricing

  • Assist with qualitative and quantitative pricing research and pricing approval within our organization

  • Design new copay cards, Relay, and contracting strategies to create access at launch, aligning co-pay programs with access expectations

  • A transparent, fact-based approach should be used

  • Coordinate with Legal/Compliance to adequately describe and project risks

  • Quantify the Gross-to-Net impact of new product copay, relay, contracting and access strategies

  • Work collaboratively within the pricing team as well as with other key stakeholders (e.g. finance, contracting), providing insights and data-driven recommendations

  • Work closely with other Pricing Team members and functions to support key projects and processes, including pricing planning, guidelines development, new product pricing launches, etc.

  • Assess pricing aspects of certain managed care contracts

  • Stay abreast of cutting edge pricing and market access strategies via attendance at conferences and meetings (e.g., Copay Card Forums, ISPOR, IMS Consulting, etc.)

  • Provide internal consulting to our partners (Payer Marketers, Brand Teams, Contracting)

  • Support Business Development on commercial assessments for product acquisitions

  • Support the pricing team on ad-hoc projects and requests

Copay Cards

  • Design Physical and Digital Copay Card programs based on adoption rates, appropriate use, and profitability

  • Balance In-house as well as partner-performed analytics

  • Bring together card utilization, reversals, IMS, and internal sales data

  • Monitor card utilization and provide timely management reporting

  • Conduct ROI analysis on copay card programs post offer launch

  • Demonstrate knowledge of different healthcare-related databases and advanced skills in data collection and analytics (excellent Microsoft Excel skills, Microsoft Access and Tableau preferred)

  • Present findings and make strategic investment decisions alongside partners from the Commercial team, Finance, Legal, Managed Markets, and Compliance

  • Maximize consistency, decrease overall cost, and minimize risk across the portfolio

  • Ensure consistent approach that minimizes OIG risk while maximizing card profitability

  • Primary, consistent point-of-contact for all Copay Card vendors (consistent ‘face’ of the organization – consistent working relationship – speed through consistent Terms and Conditions (Ts&Cs) and communications)

  • Through close relationship with appropriate Legal and Compliance team members rapidly identify, fix, and/or escalate issues related to risk to the organization

  • Demonstrate ability to work across teams, independently meet with key stakeholders, present data and findings

  • Provide recommended strategic program design in conjunction with the Brand team tied to Managed Care strategy and Product Access positioning

  • Consider regional differences both in terms of benefit design and Copay Card access/dissemination

  • Identify ‘the breaking point’ for each product and recommend a Card design to address the unique product needs

  • Provide clear, data-driven recommendations on program design and present to stakeholders as needed

  • Contribute to a comprehensive review of all new Allergan Copay Card programs designed to increase brand profitability and enable targeted or broad use of cards (as fits each brand)


The following listed requirements need to be met at a minimum level to be considered for the job:

  • Bachelor degree in related field, specific experience preferred, not required

  • Three – five (3-5) years business experience

  • Knowledge of health care, and or pharmaceutical industry from manufacturing, payer or consulting perspective

  • Analytical experience required; knowledge of healthcare-related databases and SAS a plus

  • Two (2) years health care field experience preferred
