The Transaction Expense Efficiency Analyst will be responsible for supporting the identification and implementation of Transaction Expense reduction opportunities across the ICG organization, in collaboration with the larger Business Expense Transparency team efforts. This will involve partnering with operations, technology, Network Management and business heads to achieve a successful outcome.
These expenses include but are not limited to Brokerage, Exchange, Clearance, Custody and Settlement fees for Citi entities encompassing Citi Markets & Securities and Treasury & Trade Solutions.
The Transaction Expense team is a global function with the mandate of reducing costs, optimizing usage and implementing best in class expense management practices. The team has a strong presence in NAM, EMEA and APAC.
This function establishes governance frameworks as well as originating, delivering and validating savings initiatives while driving increased expense transparency.
The global team consist of three main disciplines:
Expense Efficiency - Focused on identifying savings initiatives, leading/driving forward efforts to bring those initiatives to fruition and validating the results in the financials
Expense Transparency - Responsible for producing robust expense analytics to facilitate transparency and ultimately reduce expenses and optimize flow and processes
Operations - Accounting, control and invoice processing of Brokerage, Clearance and Exchange fees
The team looks at all areas of expenses including supply management, demand management, expense reporting, analysis and control, expense systems development and data transparency.
Identify and implement potential cost optimization opportunities in conjunction with the Business and Operations
Assist in developing analysis and reports to drive expense reductions and explain to COO's, business heads and Finance the expense trends, variances and impact of savings
Analyze expense reports and financials to develop analysis to highlight category trends to support expense reduction initiatives
Support in the develop and integration of transparency platforms and systems
Assist in producing robust analytics to identify new opportunities and highlight expense drivers and trends
In-depth exposure to Capital Markets activities including products traded, trade life cycles and key market participants across various products
Opportunity to develop multi-product knowledge across all asset classes and businesses
Exposure to all areas of front office; including traders, business unit managers and COOs
Knowledge / Experience:
Experience dealing with front office business heads, traders, senior management and facing off with external vendors
Understanding of Capital Markets products and instruments across Fixed Income, Currencies, Commodities and Equities
Strong PC skills essential including Excel and PowerPoint at an advanced level
Strong presentation and negotiation skills
Attention to detail, excellent analytical and management reporting skills
Ability to multi-task and meet strict deadlines
