City of Killeen Intelligence Manager in Killeen, Texas

The Intelligence Manager position is located in the Intelligence Unit under the Administrative Services Division. Provides analytical data to the Chief of Police, Chief of Staff, supporting staff, and other law enforcement personnel regarding criminal intelligence.

Essential Duties:

Collects crime data abnd criminal intelligence information from a variety of sources such as informants, previous investigations, legal instruments, information storage and retrieval systems.

Manages the collection of criminal intelligence data for entry into information storage and retrieval systems.

Analyzes criminal intelligence information and prepares intelligence reports.

Disseminates criminal intelligence information to members of the department and other law enforcement agencies. Acts as a departmental liaison with other law enforcement agencies on criminal intelligence matters.

Briefs staff on crime patterns.

Develops and produces crime maps using geographic information systems (GIS) applications and conduct spatial analysis of crime data.

Attends meetings that involve police mission strategies and intelligence sharing of a sensitive nature.

Accesses secured police facilities.

Attends staff level meetings and prepares briefs on various police activities.

Prepares lesson plans, conducts training and briefing documents for internal and external use.

Composes, types and edits a variety of correspondence, reports, memoranda, documents, and other materials requiring independent judgment as to content, accuracy, and completeness.

Makes public presentations of analytical products.

Serves as a member of various employee committees.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in criminal justice, computer science, public administration, math or a closely related field or,

A minimum of four years law enforcement investigative experience or,

A minimum of four years experience as an intelligence analyst officer or intelligence reports officer or,

Any equivalent combination of law enforcement investigative, intelligence analyst officer or intelligence reports officer experience.
