Hyperbaric Technician - Wound Care Center PRN Only

The Wound Care Center cares for patients with chronic wounds, non-healing surgical sited flaps that do not heal, Diabetic Lower extremity ulcers, Wounds with necrotizing infections, Venous stasis ulcers, Non healing pressure ulcers, osteomylitis, and for HBO diagnosis only late radiation injury radiation cystitis and protocitis and osteoradionecrosis.

Kingwood Medical Center is currently looking for a Hyperbaric Technician - Wound Care Center.


  • The Hyperbaric Technician of Kingwood Medical Center, under the general supervision of the Hyperbaric Physician and the direct supervision of the Clinical Manager, will assume responsibility for the safe and effective operation of the compression chamber system and supporting components.

  • All therapeutic and diagnostic modalities will be ordered by the Hyperbaric Physician.

  • The Hyperbaric Technician will also be responsible for performing maintenance activities of the hyperbaric chamber(s) and associated systems and equipment, as directed.

  • In addition, he/she will report to the Center HBO Safety Director with respect to safety issues and/or concerns.


  • Must be credentialed or licensed in the state where working.

  • Current license, certification, or training is required in one of the following qualifying vocations: Registered Nurse, Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN), National Board of Respiratory Care as a Registered Respiratory Therapist, Certified Respiratory Therapy Technician, Certified Hyperbaric Technologist, Emergency Medical Technician, Diving Medical Technician (DMT), Military Corpsman, Commercial or Military Diver, Life Support Technician

  • Demonstrated training and/or experience in chamber operations for at least one (1) year

  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in healthcare or the diving industry is required. Wound care, hyperbaric medicine, and/or experience in emergency medicine or acute medical care is preferred.

  • Specific training and/or experience in compression chamber operations, including a demonstrated knowledge of decompression tables strongly desired.

  • Ability to physically meet the working conditions required of the job.

  • Computer literate
