Under direct supervision, supports tax reporting and compliance with a basic understanding of Internal Revenue Code or applicable statutory authority and it’s applicability to financial (general ledger) data; Responsible for preparation of computations with oversight from more senior personnel; May work with tax law and accounting provisions, assist with preparation of statutory filings and/or tax returns, and provide support to Tax Managers in audits and response to various taxing authority notices; May focus on compliance or provision activities, provide guidance on indirect taxation issues, and/or advise on best practices when preparing and submission of documents to Internal Revenue Service; Performs federal, international and/or state tax research, as required. Typically requires an undergraduate degree in Accounting or related field and 1+ years of related experience and/or equivalent combination of education and competency. Brief job description:

  • Annual personal income tax return preparation and filing

  • PIT true-up after annual PIT filing

  • Refund case - to provide indemnity letter to IRB for those expats/ commuters with refund position

  • E/EA form preparation and filing (Return Form of Employer and Statement of Remuneration from Employment (CP8A) respectively)

  • Forecast (via quarterly tax provision) and accrue PIT accordingly

  • Monthly tax deduction (MTD) payment and filing (CP39)

  • Provide/check payroll details for MR/GA for reclass/charge out purpose

  • HR-Tax reconciliation - obtain and reconcile HR data with Tax data to update any discrepancies in listing and employee details

  • To furnish required information for the regular internal request, ie. monthly CO2 US reporting, monthly tax deduction details for Australia tax reporting & yearly P11d UK reporting & etc.

  • For new comer: Notification of New Employee (CP22), to obtain payroll details from home country payroll, request passport copy, obtain new tax file number, e-mail to new expat to brief them on M'sia income tax system, and obtain personal particulars for tax filing purposes

  • For leaver case: passport verification and tax clearance package (CP21/CP22A)

  • Attend to the MIRB's correspondences, request and/or audit if any

  • Prepare and provide tax confirmation letter for expats/ commuters/ ISTAs upon request

  • Other ad-hoc works

  • Corporate tax/Goods & Services tax (GST) exposure will be an added advantage
