Wainwright Memorial VA Medical Center supports Outpatient, Psychosocial and Substance Abuse Residential Rehabilitation services to veterans throughout Southeastern Washington, Southwestern Idaho, and Northeastern Oregon. LaGrande, Oregon is located in northeastern Oregon at the feet of the Blue Mountains. It is a pleasant town of 12,400. The community is friendly, casual, and has its own brand of sophistication, due in large part to the presence of Eastern Oregon University, the historic Elgin Opera House, the Oregon Trail Interpretive Park, and the Union County Museum. Excellent public schools are an asset. The LaGrande area national forests, lakes, and rivers provide some of the best hiking, skiing, fishing, snowmobiling, camping, and sightseeing opportunities in the state.

Duties include Primary Care Medicine and Comprehensive Women's Health. Requires patient-oriented physician to serve as one of the primary providers at the outpatient clinic and via Tele-Health to the local Primary Cre Telehealth Outreach Clinic. VA Physicians are covered by the Federal Tort Act and do not need malpractice insurance. *Work Schedule: *Monday-Friday, 8am to 4:30pm with regular periodic on-call duties.

- Occasional Travel to Walla Walla Facility as well as clinic in Enterprise, OR maybe required

Citizenship: *Must be a citizen of the United States. *

*Education: *Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed.
First-Year Residency (Internship): Completed a first-year residency, or its equivalent, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs for the year in which it was completed.
*Licensure and Registration: *Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
Preferred Experience: Completion of an accredited residency in Family Practice or Internal Medicine.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
