CGI is looking for a Big Data Developer to join our Federal Business Unit in our Lafayette, LA office who will support the Federal Regulatory account team. The Big Data Architect/ Data Scientist will be an integral part of supporting our Regulatory Business Units Big Data, Advanced Analytics and Visualization practice. The person will be given the opportunity to take a leadership role in helping develop staff, lead projects and support business development activities. The position will be key in helping shape the technical direction of the team.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
Providing technical leadership and oversight on projects
Development and review of big data architecture and cloud environments
Leading technical solution and design
Developing Proof of Concepts and big data/real-time systems
Supporting proposal responses
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
Experience administrating big data platforms such as Hortonworks Data Platform, Cloudera or AWS.
Experience developing code on distributed databases using Spark, HDFS, Hive etc.
Bachelors or Advanced degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other technical discipline
Development of algorithms using Scala, Python, Java on ML platforms such as Spark, H20 etc.
Excellent communication skills are a must (writing, presenting, etc.)
3+ years in Big Data
Experience with real-time data processing such as Storm or Spark Streaming and developing algorithms against real-time data
Experience with geospatial data sets.
Understanding of EPA, USDA, DOI, DOT or DOE data and process
Certifications in Big Data Analytics, Data Science preferred
