Washington State DSHS Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit Director in Lakewood, Washington
Pioneer the Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and personally build our program, team, and service.
Starting from scratch, you'll develop the first PICU at Western State Hospital to open in January, 2017. This is a diverse role utilizing administrative and clinical expertise for the overall development and continual improvement. You'll build and oversee all program and unit functioning as the PICU Director.

Your Key Responsibilities:
Utilize clinical knowledge to develop and implement program policies and procedures for the psychiatric intensive care unit at Western State Hospital based upon evidence-based practices.
Hire and manage a multi interdisciplinary team that is consistent in providing quality care.
Act as a working administrator, maintaining clinical standards and best practices that are consistent with direct regulatory expectations.
Collaborate and communicate with all Western State Hospital team members to ensure appropriate clinical and administrative outcomes.
Operationally manage and modify the PICU program and delivery of services.
What our top applicant has:
A Master's in Psychology, Rehabilitation, Nursing, Social Work, or closely related social science/healthcare.
Substantive supervisory and managerial and professional clinical experience.
Experience and knowledge related to caring for persons with severe mental illness and understanding of psychiatric recovery principles.
Strength in coordinating groups and activities in an institution setting, especially on an acute or psychiatric crisis unit.
Knowledge of Federal and state laws and standards relating to psychiatric hospitals – i.e. CMS.
