Job Details:

  • JOB DESCRIPTION PURPOSE: Coordinate information processing and maintain the electronic database to reflect authorized personnel actions that change compensation and benefits for employees and their positions. Compiles and distributes appropriate HRIS generated reports and processes all newly hired employees. PRIMARY FUNCTIONS – JOB DUTIES: The percentage of time spent performing primary functions is 90%. Qualified individuals must have the ability - - with or without reasonable accommodation - - to perform the following duties: 1. Accumulate and process all newly hired employees. 2. Create authorization form and process employee changes that include, but are not limited to, rate and salary changes, promotions, transfers, and demotions. Ensure appropriate data elements are changed that relate to each process. 3. Maintain position control database. Change position information as a result of job analysis or other managerial decisions, or authorized changes to full-time equivalent status. SECONDARY FUNCTIONS – JOB DUTIES: The percentage of time spent performing secondary functions is 10%. The following duties are considered secondary to the primary duties listed above: 1. File completed authorizations in appropriate employee or departmental files. 2. Distribute reports to managers. 3. Distribute and route mail. JOB REQUIREMENTS EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS SPECIFIC EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND LICENSURE: · High school diploma or equivalent (GED). ESSENTIAL JOB-RELATED EXPERIENCE: · One (1) year of previous clerical, secretarial or receptionist experience in the Human Resources/benefits or insurance field is required. · Basic keyboarding skills and typing skills. PREFERRED JOB-RELATED EXPERIENCE: · One (1) to three (3) years of clerical, secretarial and/or receptionist experience in Benefits or Insurance is preferred for the position. · Typing speed of 50-60 WPM is preferred.
