Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm, Day shift

Job Summary A Senior SQA Analyst is responsible for facilitating, monitoring, and improving a controlled software process development environment. Brokers commitments with IT groups consistent within project objectives. Is knowledgeable in both Agile and Waterfall project management life cycles. A Senior SQA Analyst will be responsible for engineering new processes and improving existing processes utilizing Six Sigma Greenbelt Methodology. A Senior SQA Analyst will be expected to have extensive experience with Microsoft Office products, particularly Access, Excel and Power Point. They should also be knowledgeable about the SEI Capability Maturity Model and Six Sigma practices, and display excellent written and oral communication skills. Experience with a structured QA and/or IT Development environment is required. QAI CSQA certification is required. **__________________________

Job Accountabilities **__________________________

  1. Works closely with project teams to assure compliance with Quest Diagnostics Software Development Methodology for complex projects.
  2. Makes effective day-to-day SQA Group Process decisions.
  3. Understands functional areas of responsibility in the organization and their key IT contributors and interdependencies.
  4. Engineers and implements improvements to SQA processes.
  5. Recommends improvements to development processes.
  6. Participates on cross functional IT process improvement teams.
  7. Assists in training SQA Analysts in all SQA Processes.
  8. Issues Non-compliance reports and escalates if necessary.
  9. Updates SQA activities in appropriate databases.
  10. Writes departmental SOP’s.
  11. Creates and distributes SQA Metrics Reports.
  12. Administers IT Business Partner Satisfaction Survey.
  13. Performs all SQA Group Process Activities as defined in the Process Inventory. Examples below. Planning Activities ¿ Conducts Initial SQA Planning Meeting to assure software quality assurance activities are planned. ¿ Advises the Project team to all process deliverables and process expectations (i.e. published standards, processes, and procedures such as CMM and PEP). ¿ Creates SQA Plan for incorporation in the Project Plan Schedule. ¿ Applies process waivers for published processes when applicable. ¿ Distributes report of SQA Meeting and SQA Plan. ¿ Executes SQA Planning Analyst Assignment process Auditing Activities ¿ Conducts audits of the project (all sizes) work products and reviews activities to verify compliance with the applicable procedures and standards ¿ Prepares and distributes audit reports to Project Leader and Team ¿ Applies process waivers to individual audits, when applicable ¿ Itemizes non-compliance findings, distributes report to Project Leader and follows through to resolution. ¿ Manages the import of data into the Project Database (PEP)


Minimum Job Requirements **__________________________

Incumbent should possess education, knowledge, skills, experience and special requirements (travel, on-call support etc)

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Business, Computer Science or equivalent combination of education or experience
  2. 5-8 years relevant experience in Software Testing, Programming, System Installation, or Software Quality Assurance.
  3. QAI CSQA certification is required.
  4. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications (Access, Excel, MS Word etc.)
  5. Advanced experience with technologies relevant to IT Computer skills and PC software.
  6. Strong knowledge of clinical laboratory business, billing or business systems, or client server systems.
  7. Excellent collaboration & negotiating skills resulting in direct and indirect influencing
  8. Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills.
  9. Excellent coaching skills.
  10. Excellent attention to detail.
  11. The ability to interact effectively with people at various levels within the organization.
  12. Ability to recognize the urgency of a situation and set appropriate priorities for self and ability to recommend required follow-through.
  13. Ability to handle multiple detailed tasks with varying priorities.
  14. Ability to make decisions that require a complex process including the interpretation of unusual and conflicting information.

Desirable Qualifications

  1. Software Quality Assurance certification desirable.
  2. Experience in Structured QA environment preferred.
