This position is responsible for leading the physical security duties at the bank. Reporting directly to the VP, Manager of Corporate Security, the incumbent will contribute toward creating an atmosphere of security and safety at Eastern. The Corporate Security Specialist works directlywith department management, key colleagues and internal / external experts to protect Eastern Bank; its colleagues and its customers. The incumbent will be responsible for planning, sourcing and managing vendors to meet our security needs. Assists the VP, Corporate Security in the planning of security events and the management of security incidents at Eastern Bank. Responsible for identifying potential security issues and staying abreast of physical security best practices. The Corporate Security Specialist leads efforts to identify emerging security risks and trends and makes recommendations to department management regarding loss avoidance, new technologies, and ways to enhance processes and efficiencies (card access, Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design, CCTV, etc.). The position will require the ability to work independently and under limited supervision of the VP, Corporate Security Manager. The incumbent must have the ability to function in a highly professional capacity, provide frequent written and verbal communications and have the capacity to make decisions based on sound analysis. The incumbent must be able to work well across business lines with key stakeholders to help develop strategies and respond to changing circumstances.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Identify, improve and manage physical security processes (for instance, card access), manage physical security vendors (for maintenance of equipment, securing facilities, etc.),
Communicate with Eastern colleagues, vendors and visitors in person, through written communication and on the phone regarding security issues and needs. Act as a point of contact to understand and address security concerns.
Manage assigned projects and implement physical programs for the Corporate Security team (threats of workplace violence, crisis management, planned event management, etc.).
Assist Eastern Bank’s efforts during security incidents. Debrief all security incidents, identify root causes and other opportunities for improvement; collaborate with other Eastern Bank experts and leaders to implement those improvements.
Develop and maintain a physical security expertise to empower Eastern’s risk decision making quality.
Education and Experience:
Education- Bachelor’s Degree or combination of experience and education.
Experience-5 years of experience in positions that require communication, analysis, independent decision making and project management.
ASIS certification of PSP or CPP preferred.
Must enroll in a 1 year self-study course to obtain an ASIS designation.
