St. Mary's Good Samaritan Sleep Disorders Center Technologist in Madison, Wisconsin
Under the direction of the Director of Respiratory Therapy, is responsible for testing patients in the Sleep Disorders Center. The incumbent is accountable to the Medical Coordinators with respect to medical direction. The technologist performs polysomnographic testing and a wide variety of other duties related to the evaluation and treatment of patients with known or suspected sleep disorders. Stimulates innovative improvements in patient care through demonstrating expertise as a practitioner. This position particularly addresses the care administered to the patient with sleep disorders.
EDUCATION: Successful completion of a polysomnography program or one year of experience in EEG, or respiratory therapy.
CERTIFICATION, LICENSURE, BONDING: None
EXPERIENCE: 1) Must have one year of experience in EEG, respiratory therapy, or other health care area related to diagnostic testing, or 2) successful completion of a polysomnography program.
SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS: Requires clinical proficiency gained as a result of background of ample patient care. This individual must have special motivation and interest in sleep disorders medicine. Must have the ability to develop and evaluate the Sleep Disorders Center. Appraises the effectiveness of the approaches to meet client needs; searches out, evaluates and implements new approaches.
