LOCATION: 333 W. 34th Street, 10th Floor
HOURS OF WORK: 9:00 am - 5:30 pm (7 1/2 hours/day)
This positions support the realization of MTA Procurement departmental goals through execution of continuous improvement initiatives aimed at improving overall organizational efficiency. Leverage Lean/Six Sigma methods and tools to reduce process waste, decrease cycles, and improve predictability of quality outcomes. Liaise with agency Procurement leadership to develop and deploy best practices across the enterprise. Drive the use of optimization methodologies, processes, tools and techniques to deliver value to the business departments by removing cost, waste, and inefficiencies from the supply chain internally as well as with external partners including suppliers, other internal departments and agencies.
Execute the day to day planning, development, documentation, implementation and sustainability of the Operational Excellence Program.
Drive process improvements and services to better meet needs of MTA procurement / supply chain functions.
Support the Director, Operational Excellence in driving change across the organization, providing thought leadership to adapt new practices that will move the enterprise to the next level of sourcing and procurement results, while leveraging best practices already in place within the agencies.
Execute departmental strategies that incorporate lean, six-sigma, and other improvement disciplines.
Document sourcing and procurement practices, processes and systems across MTAHQ Procurement.
Implement initiatives to improve cost, quality, service, and efficiency.
Support cross-agency continuous improvement efforts on behalf of and as directed by Director, Operational Excellence.
Identify areas and processes in need of process improvement analysis, review and redesign.
Leverage root cause, fishbone, and cause and effect methodologies to transform Procurement to next level organization.
Improve departmental processes and procedures, resulting in overall improvements in efficiency, quality and risk exposure.
Improve access to and quality of procurement data.
Improve adoption of MTA Procurement methodologies at other MTA agencies.
Achieve compliance and operations excellence targets.
Achieve subordinate competency improvement.
Delegate assignments, manage team to prioritize objectives and lead them to completion.
Participate in recruiting, development, and performance appraisal of assigned staff.
Mentor and in some instances instruct personnel on various process improvement methods, such as: cause and effect; data collection; root cause analysis; intervention techniques; corrective action; time studies, etc.
Knowledge of operations management, process improvement, systems management, project management, customer service, and business continuity.

Education and Experience
BA/BS in Business Administration or related field.
Lean, Six Sigma or equivalent certification required; PMP preferred.
5+ years of full-time experience in a similar role.
Previous supervisory experience preferred.
