PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES
The SAP Environment, Health & Safety Management and Product Safety and Stewardship application supports customer’s sustainability initiatives - enabling them to holistically manage EH&S and PS&S operational, financial, and reporting risks across their facilities and be compliant with worldwide regulations.
As a technical writer you will create User Assistance deliverables for our Product Safety and Stewardship development team. We build the software in our product portfolio which helps our customers to ensure ongoing compliance with product-related regulations for legal, safety, and sustainability obligations in production and along the supply chain.
We have an open, communicative atmosphere in our team, where each team member must be able to work both, independently and as part of one or multiple SCRUM development teams. We offer trainings on the subject matter as well as on standards and guidelines how to write documentation for SAP products. Your job location and the location of your assigned development team will be the SAP Sustainability Lab Markdorf (at the Lake of Constance). This SAP Lab is also the home of the SAP EHS/PSS Management organization.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS/ SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
A good to excellent university degree in technical communication or a related subject or a language-based university degree
Excellent written and spoken skills in German and English, ideally first-language proficiency in English
Experience in technical writing, DITA knowledge is an advantage
The ability to express complex technical information in a clear and precise manner
Flexibility and a readiness to communicate with other team members and to participate in knowledge transfer
A willingness to acquire extensive PS&S product knowledge and learn new skills at short notice
SAP product knowledge is an advantage
Experience of MS Office applications, especially MS Word and MS PowerPoint
EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS
Create user assistance (UA) deliverables (both text and multimedia) in English and in close collaboration with the development teams, UX designers, and other stakeholders to enable users to deploy, administer, and use the SAP software
Ensure that the UA deliverables are of high quality, adhere to standards and guidelines, and are written in appropriate style and tone for product and audience according to target group and target market
Plan and coordinate the UA deliverables for the PS&S product area
Define terminology that is simple, consistent, and conforms to industry standards
Act as an advocate for an excellent user experience
Proofread and edit content for usability, readability, and linguistic correctness
- Professionals or some years of professional experience (a minimum of 2 years experience)
