Summary: The Fuels Coordinator is Responsible for maintaining the Fuels inventory of McMurdo, South Pole, outlying stations, field camps, aircraft support and marine operations. Collects information on all fuel movement and transactions. Provides work direction and coordination between Fuels Department personnel and recipients.
GENERAL DUTIES (not all inclusive):
Responsible for the operation of the Fuels control center, including fuel transfers, issues and aircraft re-fuelings.
Collects, records, reports and manages data for all fuel issues, receipts and transfers.
Works in conjunction with Fuels Foreman to disseminate work direction for the Fuels Operators.
Responsible for all Fuels Department reporting, record keeping and documentation.
Coordinates Fuels Department interaction with other departments and agencies.
Responsible for the base operation of the Fuels radio communication system.
Performs duties in support of Operations Division metrics (as provided by supervisor).
Supports the achievement of ASC metrics, whether metrics are directly or indirectly, effected by this position's work activities.
Complies with all ASC Environmental Health & Safety, and Quality Assurance, requirements and goals. Provides documentation to these divisions as necessary to ensure adequate and legal documentation.
Works to achieve ASC goals and contractual commitments
Physical activities to include regular lifting. Duties are performed primarily indoors.
Responsible for maintaining a safe workplace program and ensuring safety is the highest priority in the work place.
Performs other duties as required.
High School diploma or equivalent is required.
Valid driver's license required.
A minimum four years of administrative experience, to include record keeping, report generation and data entry, is required. Radio operations and communications experience is preferred. Advanced experience using Word and Excel is required.
Must be willing and able to lift and move items, parts, assemblies and equipment up to the safety regulation maximum.
Willingness and ability to deploy to Antarctica for extended periods is required.
Must be willing and able to perform physical activities including heavy lifting, climbing in and out of equipment, crawling, and working outdoors.
Must successfully complete the physical, dental and psychological (if applicable) examinations as required by the NSF for deploying to Antarctica.
Must participate in community programs, such as “house-mouse” (chores), “daisy-picking” (cleaning-up around the station), recycling efforts and safety objectives.
