VP/ BL, Global Client Manager, International Markets €“ IMK (EU, AP, MEA, LAC) €“ Based in LAC/Miami

Reports to: VP/ SBL, Head of Global Retail/ Travel Clients and VP/SBL LAC head of merchants

The IMK Merchant Development group€™s mission is to develop and strengthen MasterCard€™s Enterprise level proposition across key industries: retail and travel across the broader spectrum of merchants (from SMEs to strategic) in close collaboration with the IMK regional teams.

The key areas of responsibilities for the overall group are global strategy, business development across the industry verticals and building/ deepening relationship with key global merchants. The team will focus on deploying initiatives identified as being high priority in delivering IMK and MasterCard (MC) goals, including:

oPositioning MC as strategic technology partner, critical to profitability/ growth of business

oDeepening relationship with key global merchants, building a holistic engagement

oNew global partnerships and strategic initiatives

oDevelopment of scalable sales/value propositions across industries to drive revenues

oProvide Thought Leadership internally and externally

The VP/ SBL, Global Client Manager, is overall responsible to drive account management across IMK for key global clients, and as a result driving growth in MasterCard revenue. The incumbent will be responsible for cross matric collaboration and exercising leadership in driving MasterCard business with KPIs across volume, core revenue, cross sales revenue and strategic initiatives.

Summary of responsibility

Global Client Manager, will provide merchants/ customers with compelling business proposition, based on data-driven intelligence and analytics

oBudgeting, forecasting and financial reporting for the defined group of key global clients

oResponsible for reviews of the overall performance of the defined group of key global clients, and also for managing the relationship and profitability

oLead multiple projects across IMK in collaboration of IMK regional teams, quickly grasp new ideas and simplify strategy into specific actions with clear accountability and roadmap

oResponsible for all administrative and operational issues for the target customer set

Identify and develop new opportunities with key global retailers, with the view to increase MasterCard share and volume, as well as developing new revenue streams

oOwnership of developing account plans, GTM strategy and deliverables for defined group of key global clients, in collaboration with the IMK regional teams

oCreate and develop executive calling plans and ensure they are adhered to

oDevelop new business opportunities/ sales pipeline leveraging full suite of MasterCard products and solutions, including co-brands, prepaid and commercial products, MasterPass, Advisors€™ services and other MasterCard products service innovations or enhancements

oDevelop financial modelling and business cases for identified opportunities

oDevelop strong working relationships with key influencers at client and with MasterCard support teams (e.g., IMK regional teams, product dev. teams, market dev. teams, etc.)

oWork with MasterCard cross functional teams to identify new segment and product opportunities and develop/ execute bespoke propositions to maximize penetration with retail and travel merchants/ industry

oStrive for broadening a strategic partnership with a global presence


Work with key constituents both internally (market development, global products & solutions, legal, franchise and finance teams), as well as external resources (customers and merchants, regulators and third party service providers) to ensure seamless execution of the strategy

oDevelop views on competition positioning across merchants group for MasterCard

oBuild network with MasterCard regions worldwide to handle global merchants needs

Experience / Education

Strong expertise of working in Retail/ Travel/ Digital industry (consulting and/or industry experience)

oPreferably gained both within industry and from a top 5 management consulting firm

oComplex €œstrategy through execution€ projects; strategy in general but also sales and operations projects/change management/business transformation

oDevelopment of new business/ start-ups

oSuccessful business model innovation

oInternational experience/ experience working with global brands

oTrack record of building and growing complex partnerships

Payment industry experience/ understanding of payment and information flows along travel and/or retail value chain

Experience of developing new consumer propositions within payments, loyalty and digital

Results driven, entrepreneurial and a proactive self-starter, requires minimal supervision.

A high level of business acumen and thought leadership is required

Strong track-record for engagements at C-Level
