Child & Family Services of RI Clinical Caseworker- Enhanced Family Support Services in Middletown, United States

Provide service coordination to children and families in crisis and continued follow-through and supervision beyond the crisis stage in helping families cope with their immediate problems and in finding longer-term solutions.

He/She is responsible for providing outreach family counseling to clients assigned through Community Based Services, utilizing a variety of treatment interventions and working as a team with the Caseworkers, when clinically indicated. Due to the nature of the workflow and level of responsibility this individual maintains a flexible schedule, which would include nights and weekends, alternating on-call duties are also assigned. He/She is directly accountable to the Vice President for Community Based Services who provides supervision and training.

Provide guidance and case coordination of all open cases. Work as a team member with EFSS Caseworkers, when clinically indicated, and supervisor to monitor services and ensure advocacy for families. Utilize home-based strength model to provide a wide range of assistance and resources to families in the process of reunification or to avoid separation. Treat psychological and emotional issues that affect parenting. Implement treatment modalities that address chronic and pathological issues that impact family functioning. Provide community and home based therapy to secure a safe and independent level of functioning. Contact the family in crisis as soon as possible following the reported crisis, and conduct an initial clinical assessment of the situation. Develop, implement and monitor an ongoing case plan for each family served; coordinate all service components both within the agency and in the community. Work with each family to recognize and sustain gains that have been made. Make referrals to other service providers when necessary. Schedule and coordinate case conferences and meetings with service providers. Available for emergency on-call response to crisis situations. Support family reunification. Coordinate services with schools, police, health care provider, court systems, and other service providers.

Qualifications: Master’s degree in Social Work or a related field of study. Licensure (LICSW, LCSW, LMHC, LMFT, etc), preferred. License eligible, considered Experience with child and adolescent development, abuse and crisis intervention. Requires a valid driver’s license, CANTS, BCI and fingerprinting background checks.
