Your tasks and responsibilities

The Field Service Engineer’s primary responsibility is to provide on-site field service support by performing predictive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and installation of Bayer Healthcare’s diagnostic equipment and products. The incumbent will: • Sell and promote service programs and offerings to a range of customers that consist of equipment end-users, medical facility management, and OEM partners throughout an assigned territory. • Provide technical support and product information over the phone. The role requires a high-level of teamwork with the assigned territory’s sales and clinical support team members during pre/post sale evaluations. • Must demonstrate strong decision making, time and task management, and inventory management skills as this role consists of low day-to-day supervision.

More specifically related to this position, Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following: • Associate's degree in electronics or associated study, or equivalent in experience from a military branch. Prior field service experience 2+ years and/or a bachelor degree associated study are a plus. Technical & Behavioral Requirements • Thorough knowledge of basic analog and digital electronics. • Thorough knowledge of basic computer networking principles. • Basic experience handling electro-mechanical and hand tools. • Knowledge and ability to operate electronic test equipment. • Demonstrated troubleshooting skills, on-site and over-the-phone. • Basic business and professional etiquette Strong decision making and problem solving ability. • Effective presentation, influencing, verbal and listening communication skills • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint.) • Knowledge of inventory management principles Position Requirements: Strong planning, organizational and follow-up skills . • Strong work ethics and attention-to-detail skills. • Strong communication skills, verbal, written and presentation. • Ability to sell and promote in controlled and uncontrolled environments. • Ability to change and adapt to changing work requirements. • Strong customer satisfaction focus and ability to create strong customer relations. • Able to work in a team environment with focus on driving results, building trust and maintaining company values. • Flexibility with travel requirements in order to support customer and business requirements, overnight travel required up to 50% of the time within the assigned territory. • Ability to work from elevated heights with use of ladders. • Physical requirements consist of being able to lift up to 50 lbs. and carry tools and inventory from truck trunk to equipment location within a medical facility. • Valid driver’s license
