The Commercial Real Estate Loan Coordinator provides loan and administrative support to the commercial real estate banking team. May also provide support to other relationship managers (i.e. C&I;, Special Assets, Private Banking) as necessary in processing commercial loans. Review loan approval and initiate loan closing process. Work with Bank’s Legal Counsel (if applicable) to prepare loan closing package. Review loan closing package for accuracy. Work with attorney and RM/PM to correct any documentation deficiencies. Work with Bank Legal Counsel to order Title Insurance Commitment. Communicate with Legal Counsel, RM/PM and Borrower as necessary to coordinate the loan closing. Review loan closing checklist – make sure all closing items are received prior to funding loan. Attend Loan Closings. Process draw requests (utilize Construction Draw and Disbursement form). Confirm draw request approval by Borrower and Borrower’s Contractor and Architect. Fund loans and advances on Lines of Credit. Prepare and maintain credit files. Responsible for Loan Exception Report – work with Borrowers and RM to clear all Loan Exceptions. Assist clients with service issues related to commercial real estate loans, Treasury Management, deposit and other services as needed. Complete and maintain accurate Bank generated reports. Work with other banks to provide current financial information on loan participations. Complete Special Projects as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or accounting preferred. 5 years experience desired; however, potential candidates may have experience in related fields that give them a basic knowledge of commercial real estate loan documentation, and title insurance. This position requires a self-starter who has a strong client focus service approach and the ability to understand and work through complex financial transactions. Must demonstrate good written and verbal communication skills, good analytical and problem solving skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel), and basic knowledge of commercial real estate documentation, and title insurance. Good interpersonal skills, including ability to resolve conflicts, work with customers and vendors, multi-task and complete projects within tight time frames, and function as a team player.
Level I: High school diploma or equivalent with at least 6 months customer service experience required. Must have good PC skills including Microsoft Office Applications and the ability to effectively balance changing priorities. Must have attention to detail, good organizational skills, and the ability to communicate with individuals internally and externally while displaying diplomacy and tact.
In addition to the above skills:
Level II: 2 to 5 years banking experience in a retail or commercial lending support role. Individual will have the ability to process more complex documentation.
Level III: 5 to 7 years banking experience required in commercial loan documentation. Individual will have the proven ability to process the most complex loan documentation and greatest volume.
