The Minot Community Based Outreach Clinic is a member of the Fargo VA Health Care System is a Level 2 Medical Center and a member of Veterans Integrated Service Network 23. Facility is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations. The Fargo VA Health Care System provides a wide spectrum of primary and tertiary acute and extended care inpatient and outpatient activities in an academic setting.

The Fargo VA Health Care System is looking for a full-time Primary Care Physician to provide care to veterans in our Minot, North Dakota, Community Based Outpatient Clinic. Incumbent will perform outpatient duties and management of scheduled and unscheduled patients, Monday through Friday. Assigned panel of patients specific to their practice and setting. Controlled substance prescribing will involve oversight from the collaborating or supervising physician as per state licensing regulations. No emergency services on site.
Work Schedule:Clinical Hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm; Full Time (80 hours every 2 weeks)
Duties of the provider:
During the course of employment, participation in activities/committees/boards/ projects pertinent to the sub-specialty may be necessary as dictated by strategic or other initiatives/taskings.
Physicians may be assigned duty as a supervising or collaborating physician for a mid-level provider. Physicians are expected to provide clinical oversight and review. Supervising or collaborating responsibilities and performance will be noted in the physician's performance evaluation.
Providers are expected to act as "surrogates" for the patient's of their colleagues, when one or more of their colleagues are on leave.
All physicians need to follow departmental and VHA policies for leave and attendance and will work within Title 38 appointment guidelines. Currently VHA guidelines do not permit comp time or overtime pay for physicians. However physicians who are asked to work outside their normal assigned tour of duty may request administrative leave for rest and relaxation. Leaves should be requested in as much advance as possible to minimize disruption to patient care services. All unscheduled absences must be properly communicated.
Quality of care should be able to meet professional standards at all times.
All physicians will work within their privileges at all times, unless necessitated by an emergency.

Basic Requirements*: *
- Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine.
- Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
*Preferred Experience: *
Board certification or possess equivalent training and experience.

Licensure and Registration: Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in astute, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or the District of Columbia. The physician must maintain current registration in the State officeholders if this is a requirement of continuing, active, current licenser.
Language Requirement: Must be proficient in written and spoken English. Security Background Check: Applicants will be required to successfully complete a background security investigation.
