POSITION: SERVICE SUPERVISOR (temporary 12 month contract)

LOCATION: Mississauga branch

SHIFT: Rotating Shifts

REPORTING TO: Service Manager

FUNCTION: To schedule and supervise all service work ensuring optimum productivity as well as processing the appropriate paperwork in a timely fashion resulting in customer satisfaction as measured by Net Promoter scores and growth in our customer base.


  • Manage and grow the service business in a manner that ensures productivity, profitability, customer satisfaction and enlarges the customer base

  • Ensure good relationships with customers as well as build relationships with potential customers

  • Answer/resolve, technical questions for customers and technicians

  • Supervise technicians: schedule service work ensuring that annual PDR sessions are conducted with each employee, and that required training is delivered to employees

  • Work with the Service team developing improved processes and team building

  • Ensure all work is conducted according to safety standards

  • Ensure all work is conducted in accordance with ISO procedures

  • Process/verify work orders, invoices, reports using BMS

  • Ensure verification and documentation of warranty work

  • Verify employee time card information

  • Control departmental expenses

  • Produce and analyze departmental reports

  • Working with OPS manager as well as the Management team on all of the above

  • Work with the Management team on required training to meet the quality of staff required. Training for service and support staff

  • Manage the service writers assigned to them insuring all shifts are consistent with the Companies expectations

  • Order, maintain, and manage the movement of special tools, and replace and retire out of spec tools.

  • Supervise the execution of corrective action of shop deficiency lists, as observed and reported by techs or management.

  • Perform JSA audits, and take ownership to maintain a safety culture.

  • Intervene and correct technical troubleshooting or repair procedures, by referring to QSOL published procedures and guidelines.


  • Automotive or Industrial certification/education

  • Knowledge of the industry and warranties an asset

  • Management / supervisory experience an asset

  • Experience in the service industry with demonstrated productivity/efficiency management skills

  • Valid driver license

  • Strong computer aptitude; experience with Microsoft Office

  • Bilingual (French/English) as required

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills

  • Customer service focus

  • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure

  • Troubleshooting and decision making capabilities

  • Self-starter, demonstrated energy and enthusiasm

  • Flexibility in hours

  • Knowledge of Cummins systems such as BMS, IMS, QSOL, EDS, TSR would be an asset.
