This role is for an Application Development Technical Specialist/Team Lead to work on the RTCS application development team.The team is responsible for the strategic development of the RTCS application, Citi’s core platform for real time credit check based on facilities.
RTCS is a key strategic platform for Citi, chosen to provide the regulatory driven intra-day credit monitoring capabilities globally across the various asset classes. The platform provides real-time credit details, to reflect client’s real time credit utilization & availability using appropriate criteria/analytics for credit risk management. Proprietary risk management and position revaluation algorithms were used to do calculations on various derivatives and non-derivative products across the asset classes. RTCS Supports various Asset classes such as: FX/ FXOPT/ Equity/ Commodity/ IR Swaps and CD Swaps. It’s is also in the process of getting extended to Non Derivative products – Cash, Bonds, Investment grade Debt Securities
The overriding aim of the group is to deliver solutions to the business in the most effective way, and in a timely manner, meeting various internal and external regulatory requirements.The responsibility of the team currently includes but is not limited to: -
·Support of existing application
·Development and support of new features and functionality as required by the business
This is a hands on development & team lead role that will offer exposure to the full development cycle, whilst working closely with the front office business on setting the goals and priorities for the future deliverables of the product
·Build and extend next generation of RTCS in line with strategic business goal – Strategic integration with core revaluation and market data services platform, integration and on-going development for platform requirements, addressing performance and stability items and expanding the client footprint
·Building the local team in Toronto
·Providing technology leadership to the local development team members and managing day-to-day development activities
·Participate in design and review of key components
·Working with the business stakeholders on prioritization, solution design, requirement analysis and acting as a liaison between the business users and technology developers
·Act as the single point of contact for RTCS Global Technology Management, based in New York, as well to the partner technology organizations and business community
·Responsible for end-to-end technical development and leadership of all RTCS related development activities – with responsibility of team, resource and project management activities
Key Relationships :
·Various technology teams across different asset classes – FX, Credit, Commodities, Equities, Rates, Munis etc.
·Corresponding business partners from the above mentioned asset classes, and the stakeholders in Franchise Risk
·Front Line Support

As the platform supports cross asset functionality globally, the role is highly visible and would be considered a critical partner across the various technology and business stakeholder teams
Required Skills and Experience:
Strong academic record, ideally with a good degree and a mathematical or computer science background.
Required: 12+ years of experience in developing distributed, high volume, global application in a trading environment
Good all-round skill and technical expertise on key technology components – J2EE, Message protocols and format, Oracle, Gemfire or comparable caching technologies
Required: Strong grasp of fundamental computer science concepts: data structures, algorithms, concurrency, and object oriented design
Required: Bachelor degree in computer science or related fields.
Required: at least 6 years’ experience working in the financial industry, with preferably 3+ years of Derivatives and/or credit/margin experience
Nice to have: relevant experience with trade capture and processing.
Proficient in enterprise level application development in J2EE, HTML5, Oracle based technology environment
Experience working with databases/stored procedures;
Nice to have: FIX protocol, Socket’s API, middlewares such as Tibco EMS, Tibco RV.
Real-time high frequency, low latency trading work would be a plus point
MTMs, valuation methodologies, margin trading knowledge is a plus
