About Industry Value Engineering (IVE) in Canada

Industry Value Engineering in Canada is SAP Canada’s customer-facing management consulting function. We work hard, are great at what we do and love every second of it. We work with customer executives and cross-functional teams within SAP on solving complex management problems and think with our customers of new ways to grow their businesses and making them more profitable though the use of digital innovations. The team is looking to hire a senior member to join our team in Montreal.

About the Role

The role of an Industry Value Advisor Expert requires a combination of management consulting expertise, customer-facing and executive relationship management experience, and strong thought leadership and industry subject matter expertise. The role is for a senior business consultant with passion for technology, who will provide industry thought leadership, strategy advice and expert management consultation to customers, positioning and leading collaborative consulting customer engagements to build transformation roadmaps and business cases that detail how digital innovations will transform customers’ businesses.

The role is designed for a senior expert that is comfortable to lead, self-driven, hungry to learn, always looking to improve, adaptable to changing requirements and priorities, passionate for business consulting and technology, and can operate as a business analyst, consultant and engagement manager while managing relationships with senior customer executives.

Focus Areas:

Area 1: Build industry development plans, articulating market opportunity, potential sales plays and go-to-market activities. Act as a conduit between different teams to develop such plans for the East region in Canada.

Area 2: As a senior member of the East region’s leadership team in Montreal, partner with field sales and technology consulting teams to identify and prioritize potential revenue opportunities, and help execute prioritized sales plays through account planning and consultative customer engagements as outlined in Areas 3 and 4 below.

Area 3: Lead account planning sessions internally and with customers based on industry plan recommendations. Facilitate visioning workshops, and lead the positioning of collaborative consulting engagements with customers.

Area 4: Lead the delivery of collaborative consulting / value discovery engagements with customers. Staff projects, drive content creation, manage customer relationships, work with SAP’s cross-functional teams, and oversee engagement delivery. Engagements scope includes digital business transformation, business model innovation and/or business process optimization. Typical activities in running such engagements include:

  • Running design thinking sessions to envision with customers potential new business models and/or new ways of conducting work more effectively driven by digital innovations;

  • Benchmarking customers’ business process KPIs, identify gaps, work with cross-functional teams to identify how digital innovations can bridge such gaps; and/or

  • Developing execution roadmaps and business cases collaboratively with customers to articulate the anticipated economic value from proposed change.

Area 5: In focused industry segments, provide industry subject matter expertise to customers, create original points of view on digital transformation, and share such thought leadership with customers to build demand for SAP technology. Act as a trusted advisor for customer executives.

Area 6: Contribute to IVE’s practice development in Canada and globally through content creation - industry thought leadership, business benchmarking, best practice assessments and customer success studies. Represent SAP externally and internally in local and regional industry, innovation and value management events.

Additional Experience, Education, Exposure, etc.:

  • 8 years of relevant experience (consulting, digital, finance, technology, value management, etc.)

  • Experience in designing and leading business consulting engagements that include cross-functional teams

  • Experience in the design and facilitation of executive workshops (value discovery and assessment), aligning diverse perspectives and expectations. Strong executive presence.

  • Exceptional know how in analytical and problem solving skills, creating and validating detailed business cases in Excel, building storylines and high quality presentations in PowerPoint with a very keen eye for detail.

  • Excellent and energetic presentation skills.

  • Passion for technology. SAP technology knowledge is a bonus.

  • Proven track-record of meeting and exceeding goals.

  • Must play nice with human and technology.

  • Fluency in English and French.

  • Relevant Bachelor’s degree required. MBA is highly preferred.

  • 10% Travel.
