Bayer Research Scientist Analytical Development in Morristown, NJ, New Jersey
Your tasks and responsibilities
The Research Scientist, with some supervision from the Analytical Development Management (Associate Director and above), leads all analytical activities for the assigned project(s) or task(s). The Research Scientist performs extensive analytical laboratory bench work to support product development, technology transfer, clinical trials, stability testing, raw material release, reference standard certification, method evaluation, method validation, method transfer, etc. The Research Scientist ensures all tests are completed in time, results are accurate and all activities are documented at a high quality. The incumbent will: •Design and perform extensive analytical laboratory work to support product development; •Develop efficient and accurate analytical procedures that meet all current regulatory requirements; •Develop efficient, accurate, and Quality Control laboratory friendly analytical procedures that can be used at QC laboratories located globally at different manufacturing sites; •Help the project team understand the underlying chemistry of the new products that are being developed; •Document experiments and enter results into the notebooks and LIMS (if required); •Design method validation/transfer protocols, perform the validation work and prepare reports; •Ensure all assigned tasks are completed in time, experimental results are accurate and all activities are documented; •Prepare product specifications, testing protocols, reports as necessary; •Follow written procedures and analytical laboratory practices to ensure the work quality and compliance; •Perform documentation review; •Communicate to all stakeholders the analytical activities and findings. •Share the knowledge with the teams; •Perform any additional responsibilities as assigned.

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required for this position: •A Bachelor’s Degree in Science (or international equivalent) with a minimum of six years of proven experience, or A Master’s Degree in Science( or international equivalent) with a minimum or four years of proven experience, or A Ph.D. in Science with 0 or more years of proven experience. •Thorough knowledge of analytical instrumentation (HPLC, GC, AA, IR, UV-VIS) and wet chemical techniques with strong focus on HPLC problem-solving skills. •Must have an in depth understanding of GMP, HA and internal requirements. •Must have an in depth working knowledge of various types of software including Word, Empower software, and Excel spreadsheets. •Must have good communication and interpersonal skills. •This individual must be highly motivated, have a positive “can-do” attitude and the ability to work in a fast paced environment as a collaborative team member as well as an individual performer.
